Jay Vasantharajah shares his philosophies around starting and growing a "phase 1" business, then evolving it from a service-based or consulting business into a thriving e-commerce or scalable software company. Jay is a trained accountant, so he shares some tools and hacks on how to better manage and hack your business finances to save money and be more profitable. We also talk about how Jay is investing in the Creator Economy and how that, along with the NoCode movement, will change how businesses are being created and scaled.
About Jay Vasantharajah
Jay started his career off at Deloitte as a consultant in Toronto. It wasn’t long before he left the corporate world to launch his first business, a PPC agency. His agency managed millions of dollars of ad spend for large clients and won several awards. He used the profits from the PPC agency to start an e-commerce business which has grown into a 7-figure a year business. Along the way, he's also reinvested cash flows from his businesses into private multi-family real estate in the Toronto area and tech start-ups like Supercast, a podcast subscription software company. Today, he is actively looking to make more angel investments and acquire online businesses and in the creator economy — basically anything that can help creators like podcasters, youtubers, and IndieHackers create and manage their creative businesses.
